AIR TERROR.
FLYING LOAD OF T.N.T. DESTRUCTIVE DEVELOPMENT. LONDON, December 16. Emphasising that an unmanned aeroplane, carrying an immense destructive force in T.N.T. has been wirelessly manoeuvred for 35 miles in the United States, Mr. G. M. Garro-Jones, M.P., addressing the 1920 Club, pointed out that when the distance over which it could be controlled reached 100 miles London would be hopelessly vulnerable from the continent. Britain, he said, should call attention to the fact that aeroplanes are being developed far more rapidly for destruction than commercially. If one-tenth of the expenditure on air security were available for civil development, world transport would soon be revolutionised, and by that the British Commonwealth would be the largest gainer. Britain should make a greater effort to induce Europe to substantially disarm aerially.
