After an absence from Auckland for about throe months the mission steamer Southern Cross returned to Auckland this afternoon fnim her cruise round tlip mission stations. She is berthed at the Central wharf. THE MATAKANA. En route from Newcastle, the Shaw. ! Savill, and Albion steamer Matakana has I reported by radio that she expects to reach Auckland at six o'clock to-morrow morning. To complete her Home cargo. the Matakana will later proceed to Wanganui, Picton, and Wellington. THE NUCULA. i According to a radio message, an expected | arrival at Auckland about noon to-morrow is the tanker Nucula from San Pedro. To discharge her cargo of oil, which is for the use of the warships of the New Zealand Squadron, the Nucula will berth at the sheerlegs wharf. FORERIC SAILED. Bound for Westport to replenish her bunkers, the Weir Line steamer Forerie, having completed discharge of her cargo of rock phosphate at the King's wharf, sailed from Auckland at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. From the coal port the steamer will thence proceed to Nauru to load another cargo of phosphate. SUSSEX LEFT SAMARANG. A cablegram received by the Union Company confirms the departure from Samarang on Monday last of the chartered Federal line steamer Sussex, en route from Calcutta Jto Auckland. She is due to arrive here on : January 8, and after the discharge of the local portion of her cargo will proceed to Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. PULPIT POINT SAILED. Having completed the local portion of her oil cargo at the Western wharf, the Vacuum Oil Company's tanker Pulpit Point, which arrived from San Pedro yesterday morning, was dispatched from Auckland at seven o'clock this morning. From this port the tanker -will proceed to Sydney and Adelaide for further discharge. MARAMA AT WELLINGTON. The Union Company advise that their passenger steamer Marama arrived at Wellington from Sydney yesterday morning. The Niagara, which is to leave again on her return trip to Sydney on Friday next, is to make her next voyage from the Australian port to Auckland, being due to arrive here on January 4.
