SAILORS' CHRISTMAS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Kindly permit mc a small space in your widely read paper so as to make my usual appeal for donations towards our entertaining fund, which helps to make Christmas night cheerful and bright for visiting seamen. For nineteen years we have not failed to try and do something which helps to make the seafarer feel that he is remembered during the Christmas and New . Year season. On past occasions when having to hire halls in which to entertain seamen, we have known the buildings to packed to the doors for the festivities, and when the Great War was on, we received letters from seamen on active service, recalling the happy times spent in Auckland on Christmas nights. Although not now attached to the Missions to Seamen, I have continued my work without a break for nearly twenty years in Auckland, and I lay claim to having helped to arouse interest in the work amongst seamen. Will our friends please note the present address, viz.: c/o G.P.0., Auckland.—l am, etc., ARTHUR P. COWIE, Missioner.
