WELCOME RAIN.
BENEFICIAL IN THE NORTH. (By Telegraph.— Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. After a spell of dry. hot weather, heavy rain fell in the north last evening, 1 followed by intermittent showers this morning, settling to a steady fall at midday. The rain will be extremely beneficial and freshening to the pastures throughout the district.
