ABSTRACT OF ACCOUNTS.
CITY'S RECORD ISSUED. PUBLIC DEBT OF £0,965,27 G. The city's abstract of accounts for the year ending March 31 last is now available. Iv regard to the issue of the abstract before Christinas, the Mayor (Air. Geo. Baildon) said to-day that the promptness with which the work had been carried out reflected credit upon the Town Clerk's and the City Treasurer's departments, as the abstract had been completed within a week or two of the adoption of the accounts by the City Council. The Mayor also spoke in appreciation of the prompt publication of the abstract by the Brett Printing and Publishing Company. A complete record of the city's activities during the 12 months from April 1, 1925, to March 31, 1926, is contained in the abstract of accounts and an interesting feature is the summary of the city's public debt, which shows that the total debt of Auckland was £5,905,270 0/0 at the time the accounts were made up.
