PUKEKOHE BOROUGH.
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. At a meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council it wits decided to submit the proposed sewerage scheme for the central portion of the borough to the Local Government Loans Board for approval, with a view to a poll being held at an early date. The Health Department model by-laws were adopted for application to the sewerage area. The council approved nn agreement between the Mayor and tho chairman of the] Franklin Power Board under' which thej board would complete payment for the borough electrical undertaking by the time the drainage loan was required. The Mayor pointed out that the agreement would relieve the borough ratepayers of an annual charge of over £210 in sinking fund for j eleetcic loans. j Metalling of Subway Road at an estimated coFt of £400 was authorised. ] In response to a request from the Railway I Department, the foreman was instructed to j prepare an estimate of the cost of tarring j the railway road. The council endorsed the proposal to form a transport committee for the No. 1 Omnibus District.
