HMr. and Mrs. R. P. Hunt, returned to Auckland by the Niagara from a visit to Australia. Dr. Allan Knight and Dr. Margaret Knight liave returned to Auckland from their visit to Martoil. Mr. Nat Madison and Mrs. Madison (nee Miss Joyce Nathan, of Auckland) were passengers by the Maunganui, which arrived from Sydney to-day. Mr. and Mrs. Charlec Rhodes, and th« Misses Rhodes, came back by the Niagara from their trip to America and Europe, extending over six months. Professor R. Corbin, professor of forestry at the Auckland University College, who has been on a visit to Australia, returned by the Niagara. Dr. C. E. Maguire returned to Auckland by the Maunganui to-day. with Mrs. Maguire, to meet whom he went to Sydney three weeks ago. Mrs. Maguire nas been abroad for three years. It is announced in a Christehurch telegram that A. H. Flay, of Te Awamutu, won the chief honour in the Lincoln Agricultural College honours lists for the year, heading the diploma list and securing the gold medal. Mr. Arthur Ficldhouse, a well-known commercial educational authority, of Huddersfield. arrived in Auckland today by the Niagara and is the guest of his sister-in-law-. Mrs. Harry Fieldhousc, of Burleigh Street, Grafton. Captain H. J. Doyle, Mr. W. W. Brogan, Mr. W. AY. Fitzharding (Sydney), Mr. L. M. Moss (New Plvmoutii), Mr. Thomas Snow, Mr. G. H." Davis (Wellington), Mr. George E. King (Kohukohu) are at the Star Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Scott, Mr. and Mre. Gerard S. Herring, Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Gaffney, Mr. and Mrs. Magill, Mr. S. Hillman, Mr. Paul Hagge (Sydney), Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Messenger (Brisbane), Air. S. J. Reid (Wellington ) , Mr. and Mrs. S. Bogey (Masterton ), Mr. and Mre. D. Lamb (Orari, South Canterbury) are at Hotel Cargen. HMr. J. E. HMadden arrived in the Dominion by the Tahiti to take over the position of general manager for NewZealand of the Dunlop Rubber Co. (Australasia). Ltd. Mr. Madden was formerly with the export department of the Dunlop Rubber Company in London, and has had extensive experience in overSeas markets. Mr. George Murray has been elected a member of the Canterbury Agricultural College Board of Governors to represent the Canterbury members of the Legislature in place of Mr. H. A. Knight, who had been a member of the board for many years and at the present time its chairman.
