FATAL ACCIDENT.
KNOCKED DOWN BY BICYCLE. OTAHUHU RESIDENT'S DEATH. Fatal injuries were received by Mr. Samuel John Jones, aged 54, residing with his sister at Button Street, Otahuhu, shortly before half-past eight last evening, through being knocked down by a bicycle. His death occurred this morning. » Mr. Jones was crossing the main street in Otahuhu on his way to a party when he was knocked down by a pushbicycle. He was carried into an hotel and a doctor sent for. After receiving medical attention he was conveyed to the Auckland Hospital, where he died shortly after six o'clock this morning. An inquest was this morning opened before the coroner. Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M. Evidence of identification was taken nnd the inquiry was then adjourned until, next Tuesday morning.
