A claim has been made by a cousin of "Charlie" Chaplin that the film comedian, who has made millions laugh, is descended from King Charles 11. She alleges that three Huguenot brothers settled in England many years ago — one in Lincoln, one in Suffolk and the third in Essex. Miss Chaplin states that her family belongs to the Suffolk branch, and that Charlie is the third or fourth cousin. "We are descended from Charles 11. and Xell Gwyn. Another branch of the family owned Nell Gwyn's Bible," she adds. ;
