FARMERS SEEK PROTECTION.
AGAINST GRAIN IMPORTS. (By Telegraph. -Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Friday. The mid-Canterbury executive of the Farmers' Union has appointed a deputation to wait on the Hon. Mr. Downie Stewart urging a further embargo on wheat and flour imports. The meeting also protested against the wool brokers charge of a shilling a bale for interlotting.
