DISPERSAL SA__. THE GLENTHORPE STUD. (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, this day. The dispersal sale of the Glenthorpe herd of registered pedigree Milking Shorthorn cattle, the property of the wellknown breeder and judge, Mr. A. J. Melville, of Buckland, took place yesterday afternoon. There was a big attendance of buyers from all parts of New Zealand, but the principal buyer was Mr. G. Farley, of Sydney. Bidding was spirited, and some excellent prices were realised. The top price, 130 guineas, was paid by Mr. Farley for the yearling heifer Glenthorpe Record 11., the next best figure being 115 guineas, paid by the same buyer for the four-year-old cow Glenthorpe Dairy 111. Other lots realised the following prices: Glenthorpe Lady 11., Mr. Farley, 80gns; Glenthorpe Rose, Mr. Farley, 40gns: Glenthorpe Lady Beauty, Messrs. Hanson Bros., Helensville, 37gns; Glenthorpe Lady. Mr. T. Secombe, Mangere, 52gns; Glenthorpe Lady 711., Messrs. Black Bros.. Helensville, 50gns; Lady IV., Messrs. Hill Bros., Mauku, 50gns; Dilworth Bridget, Messrs. Compstone Bros., Kiokio, 50gns; Glenthorpe Bridget, Mr. Farlev, 30gns; Ruby IV., Mr. Farley, 30gns; Ruby V., Mr. Farley, 30gns: calf, Messrs. Hill Bros.! 41gns; Dilworth Calm, Mr. Farley, 70gns; Glenthorpe Calm, Messrs. Compstone Bros., 36gns; Calm 11., Messrs. Compstone Bros., 41gns; Pukekite Queen 11., Mr. T. Walker, Morrinsville, 41gns; Glenthorpe Bridget IV., North Auckland Farmers' Land Company, 30gns. The remainder realised from 3% to 29gns. Bulls: Glenthorpe Ross 11., Mr. W. Phillips, Dargaville, 42gns; Glenthorpe King, Mr. R. F. Baguley, Dargaville, 45 gns; Glenthorpe Duke, 111., Mr. W. Pease, Matatoke, 50gns; others sold up to 20gns. Fifty-two lots were disposed of under the hammer for 1520%gn5, an average of about 29%gns—a most satisfactory sale considering the position of primary industries.
