THE BAND CONTEST.
PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED. (By Telegraph.-Special to "Star.") WANGANUI, this day. At a meeting of the Wanganui executive of the North Island Brass Bands' Association last night the music for the forthcoming band contest at Wellington (which has been under seal) was opened. The selections are as follow:— A grade, No. 1, "Lorzing" (Round); No. 2, "Gounod" (Rimmer). B. grade, No. 1, "II Flauto Magico" (Mozart); No. 2, "Fra Diavolo" (Auber). A. grade quickstep, "Wairarapa" (composed by G. C. Trussell). B. grade, march, "the Outpost," by Percy Shaw. With the exception of the selection "Lorzing," this music has not been published in England or the Dominion.
