TETRAZZINI WEDS.
GIFT FROM THE POPE. (Received 1 p.m.) VIENNA, October 24. The marriage at Florence of Madame Tetrazzini to Signor Pietro Vernati has been celebrated. The bride carried a rosary presented to her by the Pope. Signora Luisa Tetrazzini, who was born in Florence, made her first operatic appearance there in 1865. She had been famous on the Continent, and particularly in South America, for years before making her first appearance in England at Covent Garden in 1908, when she took London by storm. She w-as formerly married to Signor Bazelli.
