• — THE STORMONT SHIELD. PONSONBY DEFEAT RICHMOND. An attendance of about 5000 was present at Carlaw Park on Saturdayafternoon when the champion of champions game for the Stormont Memorial Shield was played between Ponsonby and Richmond, the former winning by 15 points to 5. It was a bard fought I garde throughout, but the best of the | code was.not in evidence; there was a| suggestion of staleness about the - game,! and in a blazing sun the players got very tired towards the end. At halfl time Ponsonby were leading by 5 points to 3, a try scored and converted by Peckham for Ponsonby, and a try scored by Carroll for Richmond. In the second half Taylor, with a penalty goal, made the scores, level. Ponsonby had the better of the play through the rest of the game, Peckham scoring two tries and converting both. Visit By Huntly Players. The Huntly Club sent two teams to the city on Saturday and met teams from the Kingsland Club. Kingsland seniors defeated Huntly seniors by 24 points to 13, while Kingsland juniors defeated Huntly juniors by 26 points to 8. Fourth Grade. Richmond 6 defeated Grafton 3. Schoolboys' Games. Grey Lynn 9, defeated Newmarket 6; Richmond 16, defeated Papatoetoe S; Otahuhu 30, defeated Parnell 2. J.D.K.Z. —THE D3IN:- FOR EVERYONE.
