MINERS' WARFARE.
ATTACK BT ORATORY. REPORTED SUCCESSES. LONDON, October 21. "We cannot meet you because all our members will be working," was. the reply of the Lancashire Miners' Association to the Miners' War Council communication to arrange a meeting, but it is reported m that as a result of the concentrated efforts of Messrs. Herbert Smith in Derbyshire and A. J. Cook in Nottingham the numbes of miners working has been reduced by 4000. The total is now given at 234,371.
It is reported that the Government, which meets on Monday to renew the emergency regulations, is again in touch with the owners with a view to a fresh effort at settlement.
