Melntosh and Skaw. and the semi-finals of the amateur champion- . ships, in which K. Tareha meete Leo Quin, and A. D. S. Duncan plays T. H. , HcTton. ; At the end of the first round of the . professional final, Mclntoeh was four up 1 on Shaw. In the first round of the semi-final of : the amateur championship, Quinn was one up on Taxeha, and Duncan two up on Horton. THE MORNING ROUNDS. ___ Macintosh, in his match with Shaw, took the first hole in 4 —5, and /the second was halved in 4: the- third Maellntosh took 4—6, and the fourth 3—4. ;At the next Shaw reduced his oppon-

The next two were halved in 3 and 4. At the 16th Macintosh sank a 20 putt for a win in 3, and he took the 17th 4—5. The last was halved in 5.

The Tareha-Quin match was a neck-and-neck struggle, and Tareha made spectacular recoveries on more than one occasion.

Thereafter the players were never "1 separated by more than a hole. Horton began by driving into a bunker, < but Duncan topped his second shot, a- • half in 5 resulting. The 2nd and 3rd .were halved, 4 and 5. Horton took the 4th with a fine 2. The next 2 were halved. 4 and 3. A perfect 4 got Duncan the 7th. but he lost the next, 5 and 4. Horton was bunkered going to the 9th and surrendered the hole—all square at the turn.

The better approach of the two got Horion the 10lh in 4 and 5. The 11th, 12th and 13th were halved. 4. 3, 4. Duncan had a four-foot putt for 2 at the 14th. which he holed, again squaring the match. The- 15th and 16th were halved in 5 and 4. Both struck trouble at the 17th. Duncan winning. 5 and 6. The same occurred at the last hole, Duncan standing 2 up.

McOTTOSH WINS. In the final of the professional championship .T. D. Mclntosh defeated" A. J. Shaw, 9 up and 7 to play.
