TAKAPUNA'S BIG DAY.
TRAMWAYS PURCHASE QUESTION.
POLLING TO-MORROW.
To-morrow may well be regarded as one of the red letter days in the history of Takapuna, for to-morrow the ratepayers and residents are to decide by vote whether the borough is to have a municipal tramway and ferry service. Polling will be carried out from 9 o'clock in the morning until 7 o'clock in the evening at the following booths:— Chamber of Commerce, Swanson Street; Takapuna Boating Club's Hall, Bayswater; Presbyterian Church Hall, Belmont; Borough Council Chambers, Takapuna; and the Parish Hall, Milford.
Arrangements have been made for the progress returns and the final result of the polling to be displayed on a screen outside the Council Chambers. The final count is expected to be completed about half-past seven. The town clerk (Mr. Bowden) will act as returning officer.
