Mr. R. Streater, of South Africa, is at the Central Hotel. Mr. 'E. G. Poulton, private secretary to the Hon. R. F..Bollard, Minister of Internal Aflfairs, is at the Star Hotel. Mr. B. P. Sutton (Melbourne), Mr. P. J. Townley, Mr. R. A. Armstrong (Wellington), Mr. H. Heinmann (Hastings), are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. T. H. Smith, Mr. T. J. Blackmore (Sydney), Mr. W. J. Saunders, Mr. T. Blyth, Mr. A. Thow, Mr. S. Brown (Wellington) are at the Central Hotel Mr. John Henderson, North Shore representative on the Harbour Board, who has been at Cambridge on holiday for some weeks, returned to Auckland yesterday. Captain R. F. Ward, officer commanding A Company, Ist Battalion, Waikato Regiment, has been awarded the New Zealand Long and Efficient Service Medal for 16 years' continuous service. Mr. A. B. Miller, who for the past twelve months has held on probation the position of architect to the Auckland Education Board, was permanently appointed at yesterday's meeting of the board. Mr. L. T. Haselden, president of the Stanley Bay Ratepayers' Association and chairman of the local school committee, who has been seriously ill, is progressing well, and it is hoped a few weeks' rest will completely restore him to health. Guests at the Star Hotel include Mr. W. M. Taylor (Christchurch), Mr. S. P. Browne (Christchurch), Mr. F. P. Bond (Melbourne), Mr. E. P. Bensey (Whangarei), Mr. R. Clarke, Mr. G. H. Giles, Mr. J. Barron and Mr. R. G. Jacques (Wellington). Captain R. H. Nimmo, chief of the Wellington. Caledonian .■.So ciety and president of the Wellington Winter Show Association, is at present visiting Auckland, and is at the Waverley Hotel. He is on his way to Russell, and will return to Auckland on Monday next. Mr. F. S. R. Knight, deputy-registrar of the Supreme Court, Auckland, has been promoted to the position of registrar of the Supreme Court and clerk of the Magistrate's Court, Palmerston North. Mr. A. E. Debbie, deputy-registrar of the Supreme Court at Dunedin, has been promoted to the position of deputy-registrar, Auckland. Mr. D. C. E. Webster, second deputyregistrar of the Supreme Court, Auckland, and clerk of awards, has been promoted deputy-registrar and clerk of awards at Dunedin. Mr. S. A. Cleal, clerk of the Supreme Court, Auckland, has been promoted deputyregistrar and clerk of awards at Auckland.
