GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.
TIE FOR OPEN EVENT. PLAYED THIS AFTERNOON, (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. . A light programme is usually arranged for the sixth day's play to enable semifinalist* in the amateur and finalists in the professional championships to rest for their final efforts.
The only events to-day are a stroke handicap in the morning and a driving competition in the afternoon. Opportunity, however, will be taken of the slack day to stage, in the afternoon the tie between E. J. Moss and A. J. Shaw to decide who will be the holder of the 1926 open championship. Both men are at the top of their form. A very close finish and two rounds worthy of the occasion arc anticipated.
