LONG DISTANCE FLIGHT.
GENEVA TO BRAZIL. (Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 17. The Brazilian seaplane, piloted by Bebarros, with a crew of three, left Genoa on a flight to Brazil. They are expected to reach Santos on October 27. STEAMER REFLOATED. ADVICE OF RIO CLARO. (Received 2.30 p.m.) BRISBANE, this day. The Deputy-Director of Navigation advises that the steamer Rio Claro has been refloated. The Rio Claro grounded on Scott's Beef, 30 miles east of Cairns, on September 9, when bound from New York to Xorth Queensland. The Rio Claro, a Unit of the Thompson Steam Shipping Company, visited Auckland in August, 1924, arriving from New York under charter to the Commonwealth and Dominion Line. Her arrival at this port created more than ordinary interest, by reason of the fact that she was the first corrugated-sided vessel to be seen here. Built in 1922, the Rio Claro, which is registered in London, is a vessel of 40SG tons gross and 2510 net. She is 363 ft long, 53ft beam, and has a depth of 26ft.
