■ .1 ■ ■ .1 PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON". (From Our Special Correspondent.. LONDON", September 10. Miss Liddiard, the head of the Mothercraft Training Centre, Cromwell House, Highgate, left this morning by the "Tamaroa" for New Zealand, where she will be the guest of Sir Truby King., During her stay in the Dominion Mi?s Liddiard will make an extensive tour of inspection, under the guidance of Miss Patrick. It will be recalled that Miss Liddiard was chosen by Sir Truby when the first Mothercraft centre in Trcbovir Road, Kensington, was set up under his supervision. Mr. J. Baxter, of Auckland, is in London. He is staying at the Talace Hotel, Bloomsbury. Mr. Samuel Gibson, of Auckland, who is now in London staying in Upper Clapton, leaves for New Zealand again next week. Mr. S. J. Sawyer, of Auckland, is staying in Wilmslow, Manchester. He has had a very enjoyable time visiting relations and friends in the south, and later in Norfolk and Derbyshire. He spent some time in the Lake District. Mr. Sawyer returns to the Dominion in the S.s. Otranto, via Suez. Miss E. L. Ostler, of Retnuera. has arrived in London and is staying in Gordon Square, Bloomsbury. Miss Mabel Leys left to-day for a fortnight's stay in Bournemouth. She returns to town October 1. The War Office announces to-day th° names of the successful candidates in the examinations for promotion of captains and lieutenants of the Canadian, Australian and New Zealand Military Forces. The successful New Zealanders are: Captain H. 1). McHugh. Captain R. C. C. Steele (New Zealand Staff Corps).
