QUEEN AS FINANCIER.
MARIE'S VISIT TO AMERICA. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, October 14. The Vienna correspondent of the "'Gazette ,, asserts that the real reason for the visit of Queen Marie of Rumania to America is because King Ferdinand is seriously ill. He is believed to have cancer, and physicians give him only, two more years to live. The King told the Queen that if she would not go to America now she would never go as Queen. ! The Government is strongly opposed ' to the trip on the ground of the Rumanian people's poverty, but the Queen I insists that the visit would do more ! than pay for itself owing to the loans 1 she hopes to secure from American bankers.—(Sydney "Sun.") CAROL MAY RETURN. ' RESUME PRINCELY RIGHTS. (Received 12 noon.) PARIS, October 14. It is reported that Prince Carol of • Rumania has decided to return to his wife, and that he will probably resume Crown Prince rights. Negotiations will be begun when the Rumanian King recovers.
