DEVONPORT'S ANNUAL MEETING. ENTERING TWO SENIOR TEAMS. i The annual meeting of th« North Shore District Cricket Club was held at Devonport, on Thursday. The meeting was a most enthusiastic one, and was attended by some sixty-seven members. The chair wag occupied by the president (Dr. H. C. Bennett), who remarked on the particularly successful season that the club had had last year. Financially the club was in a very satisfactory position, due in a large measure to the work of the Ladies' Committee and te the ground collections made by Mrs, L. Dacre. Three of the four championship competitions were won by the club's teams, and at the end of the season the senior eleven defeated the Rest of Auckland in one of the most exciting club games of cricket ever played in Auckland. C. C. Dacre wa« privileged by being included in the New Zealand representative team which visited Australia, and five members of the club represented the province in Plunket Shield matches — Messrs. Gerrard, Frater, Player, Scott, and Dacre. In these matches both the highest batting and bowling averages were secured by members of the North Shore Club,- Gerrard's batting average being 100, and Player's bowling average 23.66. The presidents bat for highest marks at practice was won by N. J. Wynne, Mr. G. Jacksons bat for highest average in the third grade, by L. Wilson, Mr. T. Eyres bat for highest batting In the fourth grade by R. Smith, Mr. W. E. L,. Napier's bat for the most improved player in the second grade by J. Bush, and Mr! Bray's gold-mounted pipe was won by S. Townsend for most catches during the season. The club provided all members of winning teams with caps. During the season a donation of £30 \rae made to the Cricket Coach Fund, and a resolution was passed to take up shares to the value of £25 in New Zealand Cricket, Limited. An enlarged photo of the senior elevea was presented to the president (Dr. Bennett) by the Deputy-Mayor (Mr. J. Henderson), on behalf of the club members, and Mr. R. J. Clark, for nine years secretary of the club, was appointed a life member in recognition of his cervices. The following officers were appointed:— President, Dr. H. C. Bennett: vice-presi-dents as previously, with the additions of Mr. W. E. Vercoe and Mr. W. Robertson; secretary, Mr. T. Smith ; treasurer, Mr. L. Colebourne; auditors, Messrs. A. E. Wilsoa and E. T. Eyre ; committee. Messrs. Samson, Bundle, Player, Frater, Peebles, Jackson, Hipkins; club captain, Mr. R. J. Coates; delegates to A.C.A., Messrs. Coates, Bund>, and Jackson ; gear committee, Messrs. Golusworthy, Townsend, and Dacre.

It was decided to enter two senior elevens in the first grade championship. A number of new members were ap» pointed, and there is every prospect of • further successful season.

NEW CLUB AT PUKEKOHE. 1 (From Our Own Correspondent.) j PUKEKOHE, Thursday. A meeting of secondary schools old boy* was held last night with the object of forming a cricket club. Mr. K. Schlaepfer wat voted to the chair. It was agreed to form a club to be calle* the Franklin Old Boys' Cricket Clnb, and to affiliate with the newly-constituted Pnkekohe Cricket Association, the cnainna* offering to pay the affiliation fee of £2 2/. The following officers were elected:— Patron. Mr. Ewen D. McLennan, M.P-S president, Olr. W. F. J. Munro; vice-presi-dents, the Rev. Mr. Can- (Tuakau), and Mr. R. Schlaepfer; secretary and treasurer, Mr« C R. Moffitt; auditor, Mr. M. S. Campbell* management committee, Messrs. Rose, £• Graham, R. J. Drake, and C. R. Moffitt; delegates to Pukekohe Association, MessrsC. R. Moffitt and R. Schlaepfer. The subscription was fixed at £1 5/ lot seniors and 15/ for juniors.
