AFTER ROOPE'S ROOSTER. TO-MORROW'S GAMES. MOTOR CYCLE MATCH. By way of variety patrons of the League games at Oarlaw Park to-morrow will be entertained for half an hour prior to the continuation of the matches for Roope's Rooster, with an exhibition of motor-cycle football. For some time pact those interested have been desirous of introducing the game to an Auckland football crowd on Wednesday evening the A.R.L. granted the use of the park for an exhibition to be given from 2.30 p.m. till 3 p.m. The players will be mounted on machines and the match should prove a novelty and interesting. The Roope Rooster competition will be advanced another stage when the two matches set down are Poneonby v. Richmond, and Devonport v. Mariet Brothers. On the form shown this season Poneonby should have no difficulty in keeping in the chase because Richmond could hardly hope to down the club champions. But in the Marist and Devonport game the result ie not easy to forecast. Both teams have shown real goqd form in many of their matches and it may be taken for granted they will field their strongest sides to-morrow. There is a tendency to look to Devonport to win, but Marist Brothers have a good side and the chances are that when the bell calls time it will be Mariet who will have to play off with Poneonby for possession of the bird to-morrow week.
