UNLICENSED HAWKERS.
SIX MEN FINED. For hawking without a licence six men were summoned by Mr. G. Hogan, and the cases were heard to-day by Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.IL Mr. Hogan said in the interest of the public it was esaential that hawkers should all have licenses. Inquiry was made aa to the character of all who applied for licenses to hawk. In these cases the men were not in possession of licenses. Mr. Poynton fined Thomas McGee, William Dobbinson, Reginald S. Pike, Harold Rowe, and Robert James each 40/ for hawking without being licensed. Charles Lamp wag fined 10/ and costs for a similar offence.
