THE NORTH POLE.

ANOTHER AIR EXPEDITION. AN ITALIAN VENTURE. ROME, September 1. Colonel Nobili, who accompanied the Imundsen-Ellersworth North Pole expelition in the airship Norge, has told ;he newspaper '"Impero" that with the approval of the Prime Minister, Signor Mussolini, he intends to make a further Polai flight, and one that will present greatei technical difficul ties than that ol the Norge. An airship of 54,000 cubic metres is being constructed for tht flight, and it should be ready at the end of the year. The Norge expedition was largely a failure scientifically, said Colonel Nobili, as the explorers could not say what land existed in the unexplorer zone. The entire Polar zone should b< methodically searched, and if a peninsula were found a party of scientists mighi be landed there. The airship now beinj constructed would be just the vessel foi an enterprise to definitely complete thi work of Polar exploration. — (A. anc N.Z.)
