SOCCER IN THE SCHOOLS.

SPORTS BODY'S POLICY. COMPLAINT TO COMMITTEE. A communication from the committee of the Auckland Football Association, read at the meeting of the Northcote Junior High School Committee last evening, requested assistance in having the Association code played at the school. The secretary, Mr. L. C. H. Dawson, stated that several householders had approached the Football Association Committee regarding the matter, as they preferred their boys to play the Soccer code to the other winter games. The association, he added, presented a football to the school, but understood that the headmaster informed the lade that they were not to use the ball at the school at all. There were over 30 boys wanting to play the Association code and it was contended that this number playing Soccer would not injure any other code which might be the school game. Equal rights for the Soccer code were denied. The chairman of the School Committee, Mr. J. P. MePhail, was empowered to confer with the headmaster on the subject.
