' Some time back a number of dances ■ I were held in one of the suburbs, and as I a collection of undesirable youths had been attending and making a nuisance of themselves it was decided to ask ft policeman to come to the next dance and keep the youths quiet. The constable, however, was unable ; to attend on that particular night, and, j after a good deal of thought, sent along I one of his spare helmets to. the secretary I and told him merely to hang it in the men's cloak room. This -was done, and, somewhat to the committee's a very quiet dance resulted. t
