WEIGHT OF BUTTER PACKAGES
THE BOARD WINS. i —— The regulations recently circulated by the New Zealand Dairy Board contain an intimation that any short weignt in bu-tter packages will be deducted from the payments made to the factories concerned. A local factory representative has protested against this action. He points out that in the past it has been the practice of London dealers to make no deductions for shortgages in the weight of butter consigned to them, unless the deficiency was unusually great. If the board, therefore, makes a deduction for an allowance it does not transfer at the other end that deduction becomes an additional levy from the producer.
