AUSTRALIA AND JAPAN. MELBOURNE, August 25. All the speeches at the luncheon given by the Commonwealth Government to the Japanese delegation to-day expressed the hope that Japan and Australia would 00-ofierate in ensuring peace and harmony in the Pacific. In the absence of the Prime Minister, the sniests were officially welcomed by the Treasurer (Dr. Page), who expressed the view that such visits from Japan would strengthen the good feeling botween the two nations.
