DAIRY PRODUCE.
LONDON PRICES. MAKKET DEPRESSED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following cable from the London office of the board, dated August 27: —
Butter.—New Zealand, 170/; Australian, 166/ to 168/; Argentine, 154/ to 160/; Irish, 162/ to 166/; Danish, 176/; Dutch, 158/ to 162/; Estonian, 160/ to 164/; Siberian, 136/ to 142/. The market is dead and quiet and buyers are not operating.
Cheese.—New Zealand, white, 88/; coloured, 86/; Canadian, white, 86/ to 90/; coloured, 84/ to 88/; spot, 84/6. c.i.f.
It is estimated that a quantity equal to 1,000,000 boxes of butter is in store from all sources, including 650,000 boxes from New Zealand. Production in the Northern Hemisphere is keeping up owing to a favourable season. Danish exports to the United Kinguom at present are 2000 tons a week.
The New Zealand Producers' Co-opera-tive Marketing Association's weekly cabled market report, dated London, August 27, states: —
Butter.—The market is depressed. New Zealand stored is offering at 166/ and fresh landed at 168/. There are pratically no buyers. Other quotations are: Australian, 166/ to 168/; Canadian, 162/ to 164/; Argentine, 144/ to 160/; Irish, 162/ to 166/; Danish, 174/; French, 156/ to 162/; Estonian, 160/ to 164/; Siberian, 136/ to 140/.
Cheese.—The market is slow. Quotations: New Zealand, white, 86/ to 88/; coloured, 84/ to 85/; Canadian, 84/ to 86/.
