VETERAN FIRE FIGHTERS.
ANNUAL RE-UNION. The annual re-union of the Old Boys and Honorary Members of Fire Brigades and Salvage Corps Association of. New Zealand, took place on Saturday evening in the Druids Hall, Newton. There was a record attendance. President H. Carrington occupied the chair and was supported by pa«t presidents McKay and Eagleton. Representatives of the city and suburban fire brigades were also present. Ex-Superintendent Fenton (Grey Lynn), ex-Captain Butter (Eden Ter race), Comrade Hartley (Napier), Foreman Pritchard and Superintendent J. Williams, 25-year gold star veterans, were among those present. Superintendent J. Williams has a record of 37 years service, and with Foreman Pritchard i« atill in active service in fire brigade work at Mount Eden. The president tendered an apology on behalf of Comrade ex-Captain Field, of the Salvage Corps of long ago. who has been in a very bad state of health for the last eighteen months. A musical programme arranged by Comrade H. Jane was well received, every artist being recalled.
