UNDEFENDED DIVORCE.

TWO PETITIONS HEARD. There was a short sitting of the Supreme Court this morning when Mr. Justice Herdmau heard two undefended divorce petitions.

Misconduct was the ground upon which Walter Blair llcKinlay (Mr. Wyatt) secured a decree nisi against Winifred Harrietto MeKinlay. James Arber was cited as co-respondent, and Mr. Keel represented tlie wife and Arber, and eaid there was no defence to the suit. The parties were married in 1919. In 1925 the petitioner lo:>t his position and went to [Sydney, where he eventually secured a job. He sent money to his wife tin her passage from Auckland, but she, would nut come. A private inquiry agent gave evidence of having seen respondent and Arber living together at 2T, Remuera Uoad, and testified to misconduct. The question of the custody of the one child was adjourned for six months, as there was a likelihood of the respondent boinjr married. The co-respondent was ordered to pay tosts.

Drunkenness, cruelty and failure to maintain were the grounds upon which Ella Maude Moseley (Mr. Potheringham) proceeded against Gcorg-e Alexander Moseley. Petitioner stated that she was married in 1921. Almost from the start her husband drank. He struck her on several occasions and refused to maintain her. She obtained an order against him at Xapier. His Honor adjourned the case pending corroborative evidence.
