The Government steamer Hinemoa returned from her Norfolk Island trip this morning, berthing at the King's wharf. The vessel left Auckland on Saturday last and arrived at the Island on Tuesday. She is announced to j sail for Nine Island at U p.m. to-morrow. ! i KAIRANGA DISCHARGING, A fine weather trip of nine days and a-half from Adelaide was experienced by the Union Company's steamer Kairanga. which arrived at Auckland yesterday morning. The vessel's departure from the Australian port was delayed for some hours owing to a shortage of crew. UNION COMPANY'S STEAMERS. j Movements of steamers under the flag j of the Union Company are announced as follow :— The Wainui was delayed on her trip I from Gisborne. and did not reach Auckland until early tlfis mornir/g. She is to sail again for Tokomaru Bay. Gisborne and Napier at 5 p.m. to-morrow. The Wairuna is expected to arrive at Auckland on Friday evening ,from Pacific Const ports. The Karori is now expected to arrive at Auckland from Westport to-morrow morning. She will berth at the King's wharf. After discharge the Karori is to proceed to Greymouth to load for Wellington. The Kurow is to leave Wellington this evening for Auckland direct. The Katoa has been fixed to load at Westport on Wednesday for Auckland. The Kornmlko is to leave Newcastle this week for Auckland. YOSEBIC COALING. With her bunkers low in coal, the tramp j steamer Yoseric arrived at Auckland this morning. She is coaling from a hulk in the stream, and is to continue her voyage to Lyttelton at 9 o'clock this evening. The Yoseric, which has been tramping for the past two years, left Nauru Island on August 18, and experienced fine weather for the first three days. Strong winds and rough seas were then encountered until August 2o when the wind increased to gale force the sens running- very high. Quantities of j water were shipped, but no damage done | Towards the cud of last week the conditions began to improve.
