THEFT OF LIQUEURS.
VALUED AT £30. BURGLARY AT WINE STORE. A CONSTABLES DISCOVERY. On Saturday night while patrolling his beat, a constable discovered that the glass panel in the front door of Hughes and Cossar. wine and spirit merchants. Swanson Street, had been broken. The constable summoned Mr. Percy Hughes, and it was found, after an inspection of the warehouse, that the burglars had broken the glass in a large showcase upstai . A large quantity of expensive liqueurs, valued at approximately £30. was removed. Evidently the intruders were skilled connoisseurs, for they did not toui-ti any of the heavier brands of liquor. Suburban Shops Entered. Tobacco and cigarettes worth about £15 were taken by burglars, who broke into the shop of Mr. S. J. Davidson, grocer. 379. Manukau Road. Epsom, between midday on Saturday and yestetrday afternoon. Burglars entered a draper's shop at 247. Dominion Road, on Friday night. Entrance was gained by breaking a glass in front of the door and opening the lock. Goods worth £10 were stolen.
