ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FATALITY AT MOSSBURN. MAN KILLED BY TRACTOR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Sunday. A fatality occurred at Mossburn yesterday, when Herbert Beer, 44 years of age, was killed in an accident with a tractor. Another man, Heely, was seriously injured at the same time. GANGER STRUCK BY TRAIN. HIS SKULL FRACTURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Sunday. Patrick Enwright, a railway ganger, was seriously injured on the railway at Dipton yesterday. He had left a trolley on the line while he went into a shed to get some tools. As a train was approaching, he then went out and attempted to pull the trolley off the line, but he was struck by the train, carried along on the cowcatcher, and thrown against a poet.
The train quickly pulled up, and Mr. En wright was taken to Lumsden, where he received medical attention. It was found that his skull was fractured and he was removed to the Southland Hospital. His condition is serious.
