WOMAN UNDER TRAIN.
REMARKABLE ESCAPE IX X/OXDON.
A young woman passenger on Victoria Station, London, was swept off her feet by the open door of an incoming electric trail. and fell between the platform and footboard oa to the track.
Great was the relief of some 200 people when they .saw her reappear with the assurance, "I am all right."
The train had drawn In steadily, and had not stopped when the accident occurred.
With a wound on the top of her head, she rose to the footboard, but the space was not sufficient for her to get back to the platform.
With complete coolness she said, "Xever mind. I can get out," and made her way to the rear of the carriage, where she was nssisted on to the platform.
It appeared that when the woman. Miss Alice Hales, of Heme Bay, was drawn down by the moving train she came close to the wall and free of the rail, but as she fell her head struck an outstanding bolt or bar, which made a deep cut.
Railway men rendered flret aid, and she was taken to St. George's Hospital. After receiving attention she was able to leave.
