AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP. PLAY IN FINAL GAME. The finalists in the Auckland amateur billiards championship, E. V. Roberts and M. D. White,' commenced their game at the showrooms of Billiards, Limited, last evening, when there was a large attendance. ■■ White began well,' and at hie] second visit to the table' made a break. of 28, a mis-cue being his downfall. ' A little later he mad# a run of 32, reaching the first 100 with a good lead. Roberta took an unusuaUy long time to settle down. White continued to play .attractively, and in quick time added breaks of 33 and 26. His next noteworthy effort was a splendid break of' 63. Roberts was at this stage over 150 points behind, but consecutive cues gave breaks of 72 and 79, thus evening the scores. White, however, continued to play consistently, running to. session points with a slight lead. The session scores were: White, 502 in play; Roberts, 485. The best breaks were: White, 28, 32, 33, 26, 63,. 21, 35 and 20; Roberts, 72, 79, 32, 32, 30, 36 and 21. Owing to the limited seating accommodation, ticket-holders only will be admitted to the final session this evening.

DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP. The N.Z. amateur championship tournament will open in the rooms of the Auckland Sports Club, His Majesty's Arcade, on Monday. Entries for the event closed yesterday. A specially fitted standard match pocket table is being provided, and crystalate balls will be used. Last year's winner, Mason, of Dunedin, and Siedeberg, who has won the championship on four occasions, and E. Stewart, also of Dunedin, have entered as well as F. B. Lovelock, who won in 1911 and 1912, H. F. Valentine, who won in 1913, E. W. Warren, who won mi 1915, 1917 and 1920. E. V. Roberts, wiflner in 1922 and 1923#and R. Fredatovich, who won the title in 1924. Other well-known players have declared their intention to play, and some interesting matches should be witnessed during the series of games.

EMPIRE CHAMPIONSHIP. A cablegram from the British Billiard Association and Coatrol Council has been received by the Auckland Sports Club, notifying that the Empire billiard championship will be commenced on March 7, 1927. Entries will close on February 3. A° Dominion nomination is wanted.
