JOY-RIDERS 1, OPERATIONS. CHRISTCHURCH CONVERSIONS. (3v Te".e?rapb.—Special to "Star."} CHRISTCHURCH, this day. On Saturday morning. Clarence Reginald Burt ( IT ) wanted a side in a motor car. He "borrowed"' a car which was to his liking, and as a result made an appearance in Court this morning to answer to a charge of converting to his ( o\rn use a motor car valued at £375. Burt pleaded guilty and was fined £7, also another £1. for driving without a license. The car in question was the fifth to be taken in the city last week. A sedan which was taken from a earacre on Thursday night was recovered liy the police in Kilmore Street on Saturday morning. The theft appeared to be the work of joy-riders, and about £5 worth of damage was done to the car.
