Work in connection with the survey of the private railway line from Ohura to the coalmines, a distance of about 12 miles, is being continued, and it is reported that it will be completed by Christmas. Quite a number of settlers in the Ohura district have been using the coal taken from outcrope. It is giving every satisfaction for household purposes, and is equal in quality to any North Island coal. Did you preserve as many eggs last year as you ought to have done! Remember you can save money by preserving with Sharland's well-known Egg Preservative. — (Ad.)
