SHARP RISE IN BEEF. MORRINSVILLE. Saturday. Beer advanced about 5/ per 1001b at yesterday's stocK sale conducted here by i the Farmers' Auctioneering- Company I There was a very large yarding. 1 Steer beef went up to 38/ per 1001b. I heifer, 35/ to 36/ per 1001b. and cow, 30/ to 35/ per 1001b. The quality of the I steers penned was also an improvement I over the most recent sales here. There was a keener demand for dairy heifers which sold up to £19. Cows were not so much sought after, and. with the exception of one which broug-ht £15, the top price was £9 10/. j Sheep were not penned in large numbers. I Store and weaner pigs sold at advanced I rates. I The prices are:— Beer: Heavy rat bollocks £15 10/, lighter, £10 10/ to £14 7/6; prime fat hirers, £8 5/ to £9 5/; heavy rat cows, i £10 to £10 12/6; lighter, £6 15/ to £8 5/; I fresh and forward, £3 10/ to £5 12/6; stores, 19/ to £3 5/. Dairy cattle: Good quality heirers close to profit, £12 10/ to £17, Ipss forward £7 to £10; cows, £7 10/ to £9 10/, and one at £15, poorer and backward, £3 to £4 10/. Sheep: Fat wethers, 31/ to 33/6; hoggets, 22/. Pigs: Choppers, £4 to £4 10/; good stores, £2 1/ to £2 16/; Slips, 29/ to 36/; weaners, 15/ to 27/.
