THE TWO FRANCS.
As mentioned by cable the French franc made a new low record on July 16 by dropping to 204J to the f, whilst Belgian francs fell to 211 J.
The "Matin" attributed the latest fall of the franc to heavy sales made by Belgium in defence of her currency, and, pointing to the danger that France In her turn might overwhelm the Belgian franc by like operations, said that an international agreement for the common defence of depreciated currencies was absolutely necessary.
