LAMBING IN HAWKE'S BAY.
OPERATIONS WELL ADVANCED. Advices received from Hawke's Bay are to the effect that for the past fortnight the weather in the district has been favourable for the lambing season, and at many of the larger stations, and also, where early lambs are being bred, the lambing is well- advanced. There appears to be a noticeable absence of twins, and the single lambs are strong and healthy. Although for the time of the year the weather has been exceptionally favourable, rain is very badly needed, and if it does not come before the dry season sets in, the outlook will be bad.
