TIGHT WITH A CONSTABLE. POLICEMAN TOO GOOD. £12 IX FliraS. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCIIUECH, thi? day. "Give him a go for it. Fat!" So Frank Chapman urged Patrick Murphy, and Tilt did. But the man to be given a "fro" was Constable Edwards, and he was more thnn a match for Pat Murphy. Murphy (23) was before the Court today charged with having wilfully obstructed" a constable while in the execution of his duty, with having resisted him, and with having , vised obscene language. Chapman (26) also appeared, charged with having obstructed a constable and with . inciting Murphy to resist. It was stated that the constable was arresting a man on Saturday for drunkenness. Accused were with him, and said they would see him to a tram. The constable decided otherwise, and Murphy thrn endeavoured to pull him off the man. Murphy was arrested and broke away, but was recaptured. Then Chapman told Murphy to "give him a go," and that constituted incitement. Also obscene language was used while Murphy ■was under arrest. Murphy was fined £3 for obstruction -md £5 for obscene language. Chapman ;as fined £3 for obstruction and £1 for ..citing to resist.
