RUGBY LEAGUE TOURISTS.
TRIP ACROSS CANADA. CONNECTION WITH STEAMER. The New Zealand Rugby League has been faced witfi more than an ordinary share of difficulties in connection with getting their team home to England in time to commence the itinerary that has been arranged. Originally it was intended that the team should sail from Wellington by the Tainui, but after that steamer had been twice delayed if was decided to eend the team by the Aorangi. Now the team is in Canada, and there is some doubt whether it will be able to connect with the next steamer across the Atlantic. At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Rugby League last evening a letter was received from Cooks Tours stating that if the team travelled by the Canadian National Railways there was a danger of the boat being missed, and the English Rugby League suggested that the team should travel across Canada by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company's service, which would guarantee to make the connection. However, a cable was received from the first-named company guaranteeing that the connection would be made, even if a special electric train were necessary, and it was thus decided to let matters rest where they are.
