Her parents were among the earliest of Auckland's pioneers who arrived in Auckland in the ship Bolivia in 1542. Mrs. Graham was born in Auckland and lived here all her life. In her girlhood Auckland was a mere village and garrisoned by Imperial troop* quartered here during the troublous war times of Taranaki, Waikato and Tauranga. The late Hon. John Sheehan was a brother of Mrs. Graham's, and was a keen supporter of Sir George Grey, and held the portfolios of Native Affairs. Defence and Justice during his premiership. Mrs. Graham's parents were among the original parishioners of St. Patrick's and were prominently identified with that church—also with tlie Auckland Ladies' Benevolent Society, of which she was one of the earliest members —as well as being one of the founders of the St. Vincent de Paul Society's local branch. Mrs. Graham is survived by her husband, five daughters and three sons.
