In the obituary notice of the death of Mr. Charles E. Brewer on Friday, we stated that the ship Merchantman in which Mr. Brewer arrived, brought out Sir George Grey. It was his Excellency Colonel Gore Brown, the new Governor for Xew Zealand, who arrived by this ship, not Sir George Grey. Advice has been received by Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, that the opening of the Commission of Inquiry has been fixed for Thursday. .Ttilv 15. The inquiry will be held before Mr. A. Gray. X.C.'of Wet lington. A married man with one child, named F. Schdroski (21), appeared at tlie Onehunga Police Court this morning charged with stealing £15 in money from W. Ed. Robinson, of Mangere. Sergt. J. A. Cruickshank asked that the case be remanded for a week as other charges were pending. The accused had nothiim to say for himself and no requests to make. Serjit. C'ruickshenk told the presiding justice (Mr. J. Laking) that he would oppose bail. The remand was granted.
