A departure from Ancklanb shortly after 7 o'clock this morning was the Canadian Government steamer Canadian Conqi>eror with a cargo of New Zealand produce for discharge at New York, Boston and Montreal. PORT HARDY'S VOYAGE. Bound from Auckland to New York Boston and London, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line's steamer Port Hardy arrived at Norfolk (Virginia) on Tuesday last She was dispatched from Auckland on June 6. UNION COMPANY'S STEAMERS. Movements of steamers under the flag of the Union Company are announced as follow :— The Waipahi is expected to leave Napier for Auckland to-morrow afternoon The Wlngatui left Bunedin at 11 p.m. on Wednesday for Auckland, via ports. The Kiwltea is timed to sail at 5 p.m. to-day for Portland, where she is to load cement for Wellington and Lyttelton. The Katoa was to leave Auckland at 3 p.m. to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Timaru. NOTICE TO MARINERS. A notification from the Otago Harbour Board states that the white lights on the entrance leading bencons in Otago Harbour have been discontinued, and that lights are now exhibited as follow:—Front beacon: A flashing white light lsec, flash 3-10 sec, 24ft, visible 6 miles, is exhibited from a white triangular beacon 20ft highsituated at Harrington Point. Rear beacon: An occulting white light ssecs., eclipse 2secs. 85ft, visible 12 miles, is exhibited from a white beacon 30ft high, situated eastward of Maori Kaik Pier. New rear beacon has been Installed at a position 033.5 degrees, 328 ft from the existing rear beacon, and the front and rear beacons are now 2097 yards apart, and in transit 177 degrees 3 feet 30 inches. This leads 220 ft off North ifole end and in a least depth of 36ft at M.L.W.S.

The Kurnalpi was to sail early this afternoon fpr Wellington, and Lytteiton. The small steamer Tiroa was dispatched for Hick's Bay and Gisborne last evening. The Ngakuta arrived at Rarotonga from Auckland on Wednesday evening. The Richardson steamer Putiki. which is completing her overhaul, is expected to saii lor East Coast about Tuesday. The Kichardson steamer Awahou arrived from East Coast this morning, when she berthed at the King's wharf. She Is to sail on her return trip at 6 p_m. to-morrow. The Auckland Harbour Board notify that the fixed red light formerly exhibited at the eastern end of Kohimarama wharf has been discontinued. The fixed white light, 23ft above M.H.W.S. exhibited at the western side, will continue unaltered. WAIKAWA BRINGING COAL. Coal laden for Auckland, the Union Co.'s steamer Waikawa left Newcastle on Wednesday evening last. She is due here about Tuesday. THE NIAGARA. By cable, it is announced that the R.M.S. Niagara arrived at Suva at 9 a.m. to-day, and ivas to leave there at 3 p.m. She left Auckland for Vancouver on Tuesday last. COMERIC WITH SULPHUR. Messrs. Robert Millar and Co. advise that the steamer Comeric is due at Auckland from Texas \ ith a cargo of sulphur on July 20 Her other discharging ports are Lytteiton, Wanganui and Adelaide. THE TOFUA.

Advice has L>een received that the Union Company's steamer Tofua arrived at Suva from Tonga and Samoa yesterday afternoon. She was to ipave the Fijian port for Auckland to-day, being due here on Tuesday next. CEDARBANK WITH PHOSPHATE. Carrying a cargo of 8200 tons of phosphate, the steamer Cedarbank is expected to arrive at Lytteiton from Nauru Island on Monday She will also discharge at Tort Chalmers and Bluff. KAIRANCA THIS EVENING. An expected arrival at Auckland at 6 o'clock this evening is the Union Co.'s steamer Kairansra from Adelaide, via New Plymouth. She i≤ to berth at the Prince's wharf. OPAWA LEFT LIVERPOOL. With general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington. Lytteiton and Dunedin, the N.Z. Shipping Co.'s stpamer Opawa left Liverpool on July 3. She is due here about. August 14. KAITUNA AX MIDNIGHT. It is announced by the Union Company that the Kaituna, which is bringing general cargo from Adelaide and coal from Newcastle, will arrive at Auckland at midnight to-uight. She will berth to-morrow morning at the Western wharf. KIA ORA AT COLON. En roure from Liverpool to Auckland, Wellington, Lytteiton, and Dunedin, and Shaw, Savill and Albion Co.'s steamer Kia Ora arrived at Colon on Tuesday last. She is expected at this port about July 29. X M.ni.s. AORANGI REPORTED. On her way from Vancouver to Auckland and Sydney, via the usual Island ports, the Union Co.'s Royal mail motor liner Aorangi arrived at Honolulu on Tuesday last. She Is due at this port on July 19, and is to continue her voyage to Sydney at 5 p.m. on the same day. KENT'S SAILING DATE. For linal leading for Genoa, Havre, Glasgow. Liverpool, Manchester and Avonmouth, the Federal Line steamer Kent was to leave Gisborne last evening for New Plymouth. Wanganui and Wellington. She is to sail finally from the last named port on July 22. PAWLET TO-MORROW. To the agency of Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane, the Swayne and Hovt Line steamer Pawlet -will arrive at Auckland at daybreak to-morrow Sb_e is from Pacific Coast ports, and is to discharge the local portion of her timber, case oil, and general cargo at the Prince's wharf. Her other discharging ports are Wellington and Melbourne. MAIMOA AT SUVA. On her way from London to Auckland, the Shaw. Savin and Albion Co.'s steamer Maimoa arrived at Suva yesterday. She is expected at Auckland about Wednesday npxt, and from this port is to proceed to Wellington and Southern ports to complete discharge. She will later carry out a Homeward loading programme, being scheduled to sail finally from Wellington for London, via Cape Horn, on August 19. A. S. Paterson and Co., afe the local agents. CANADIAN CHALLENGER DELATED. According to a radio received this morning, the Canadian Government steamer Canadian Challenger will not now arrive at Auckland from Montreal until Sunday afternoon.
