HEAVY STOCKS HELD

The figures of the dairy division of the Department of Agriculture show tha> the salted butter graded for «june totalled 740 tons, and the unsalted nil. compared with 576 tons salted 14 tons unsalted, a total of 590 tons for June of last year, an increase of 25.4 per cent. For the 11 months ended June the respective quantities were 59.305 tons and 2SIS tons, a total of 62,213 tons, compared with 05,280 tons and 4572 tons, a total of 00.861 tons for the corresponding period of the preccdins season, a decrease of 10.9 per cent. The cheese graded for June com prised: White 771 ton 3, coloured 591 tons, a total of 1362 tons, compared with S3O tons white and 428 tons coloured, a i total of 1207 tons, for June. 1925, an increase of 7.5 per cent. The quantitie:for the 11 months ended June, 1926 were: White 47.020 tons, coloured 26 800 tons, a total of 73.R20 tons, compared with 45.012 tons white and 23,800 ton? coloured, a total of fi0.809 tons, for th«> corresponding period of the preceding season, an increase of 5.7 per cent. Converting these fibres into butter fat equivalent, there is a decrease ot 5.6 per cent in butterfat production for the 11 months, as compared with the corresponding period of the 1924-25 season. , Stocks held in the various grading ports as at June 30, 1926, were: Butter 6255 tons, cheese 4361 tons, as compared with 2441 tons butter and 1441 tons cheese held on June 30, 1925.
