SCHEMES FOR PACIFIC. ■WAR OF THE FUTURE. LONDON, July 1. Lieut.-Commander Kenworthy (Lib., Hull Central) asked in the House of Commons to-day -whether British docks in|the Pacific were capable of accommodating the largest units of the Navy, and if any other docks than those at Singapore were being prepared. Mr. AY. C. Bridgeman, First Lord of the Admiralty, replied that Esquimault (Vancouver Island") was nearly complete. He understood that the Hongkong AAliampoa 1200 feet dock was now in its initial stages. Lieut.-Commander Kenworthy: Have you considered with the Australian Government the enlargement of accommodation at Sydney? Mr. Bridgeman: I can't say I have recently, Mr. F. G. Penny (Con., Kinjrstnn-upon-Tbaines): Have you considered selling the Hongkong land and dock and devofinjr the proceeds to tlie Singapore dock? The Speaker insisted that notice of the question must be given.
